Operational Support Staff

What will I be responsible for?

To support the daily security and operation of the Centre by undertaking duties, in areas including the Control Room, Gate House,  Visitor Centre and other areas as allocated, in line with contractual requirements, legislation and company standards. To maintain high standards of security and safety whilst ensuring the welfare and decency of detainees.

What decision/change authority will I have?

Is expected to make recommendations to improve the efficiency of set routines or work schedules.

Who will I work with?

Interacts mostly with their visitors, all immediate peers and managers.

What projects/people will I lead?

Uses resources available to deliver the outputs efficiently and on time.

What technical expertise will I need?

This role requires no specific previous experience or qualifications but experience of dealing with a wide variety of people in line with security procedures would be an advantage. Requires good customer service and understanding of role requirements, verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of H&S and safe working practices. Strong customer care focus.

What experience will I need?

Entry point for Operational Support Officer role. Good communication skills, ability to work effectively as a member of the team, good time management skill. Excellent customer service skills.

Will I need formal qualifications?

We will provide full Home Office approved training.
