Functional Heads (SMT)

What will I be responsible for?

To focus on maintaining and improving commercial performance in the region and to continuously improve performance in the operational teams. Develop and deliver the region's strategic plans and policies.

What decision/change authority will I have?

Support the Deputy Centre Manager/Centre Manager to ensure an effective service is delivered in line with contractual obligations and company standards. Focus on delivery of contractual requirements, ensure all expected standards of care and security are delivered appropriately. Provide SMT Duty Manager cover on a rostered basis including on call provision. Support staff development to maximise performance, motivation and staff contribution. Establish effective communications ensuring that relevant information is processed and disseminated both accurately and to deadline. Manage and control relevant budget so that a cost effective service is delivered within set financial parameters. Ensure compliance is maintained an effective ACDT system is in place to minimise self-harm and bullying within the Centre. Assist in promoting Health & Safety across the Centre to ensure it is embedded and its’ requirements are met across the Centre..

Who will I work with?

Create and deliver effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, through regular contact. Management of the strategic priorities of the company within the region.

What projects/people will I lead?

Is expected to make recommendations to add or delete resources within their entity to ensure its integrity and typically manage an infrastructure of roles up to and including several managers who themselves manage specialist teams.

What technical expertise will I need?

Home Office and Vetting Clearance.

What experience will I need?

Relevant managerial experience within a custodial environment is required. Understanding of profit and loss and budget setting.

Will I need formal qualifications?

Successfully completed the DCO Initial Training Course and NVQ/Apprenticeship Level 3 in Custodial Care or working towards.
