HR Director

What will I be responsible for?

Overall responsibility for the company's HR strategy. Also contributes to overall company strategy and policy making by advising the Board on the HR implications of its decisions

What decision/change authority will I have?

Provides clear direction and leadership to the HR and training function. Anticipates and responds to changes in the HR environment and ensures that the policies and systems are appropriately changed. Makes recommendations about the addition or deletion of systems. Influences change at the highest levels in the organisation

Who will I work with?

Manages key internal and external stakeholder relationships. Engages senior managers across a number of complex and significant finance/business issues. Drives overall client engagement across projects

What projects/people will I lead?

Responsible for leading HR teams to ensure compliance with employment law, improving management/employee communications including mediating in disputes and advising Operational Directors on how to implement HR policies

What technical expertise will I need?

Substantial and broad experience in appropriate HR work. Formulating HR systems and strategies appropriate to the company's corporate mission and goals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Numerical and budgeting skills. Negotiation skills

What experience will I need?

Track record of setting HR strategic direction. Significant external relationship management experience. Business orientated and commercially astute; understands the sector and its clients; in-depth knowledge of group interdependencies

Will I need formal qualifications?

Degree-level education. Post-qualification experience in more than one area of HR including significant management experience. CIPD Fellow (or equivalent qualification)
