Senior Solicitor

What will I be responsible for?

Delivers a broad service to a defined project/asset/area. Routinely provides expert technical advice to managers and above. Relied upon by client and line manager as personally accountable for a transaction or wider project. Has knowledge and a high level of understanding of company policies and procedures with accountability for compliance aspects of a project/asset. Integrates a wide range of transactions and problems requiring co-ordinated inputs from other disciplines

What decision/change authority will I have?

In addition to what is expected at Solicitor level, will be required to lead functional reviews

Who will I work with?

Will interact at a high management level with both internal and external stakeholders. Required to lead legal interactions for a particular function or asset

What projects/people will I lead?

Leads solicitors on projects or within assets (who may be direct reports). Makes recommendations concerning use of resources and implements these once approved

What technical expertise will I need?

Proven capability delivering key corporate objects with a complex asset/region; or be recognised as an expert providing Group-wide specialist knowledge on a wide range of complex projects or routinely provide effective legal advice to the more major strategic or sensitive projects

What experience will I need?

Expert and/or very broad range of legal and industry knowledge. Seen Group-wide and externally as expert in field and/or influential in project management

Will I need formal qualifications?

Substantial track record of leading legal input into strategic or sensitive projects in key areas of the business. Proven track record of working with heads of function on high level matters as indicated above
